Joey: Located After Nine Days Missing

Joey, an indoor/outdoor cat, had been missing for nine days when I searched for him at night with my thermal drone. I quickly located and tracked him moving through the woods, even with leaves on the trees. Finding Joey gave his owner a location to work from, but he could not be safely recovered during that search. The next plan was humane traps and video monitoring. Joey was located; further ground recovery was still needed. Thermal searches can provide a valuable lead, while bringing a frightened pet safely home may require additional work. — Tom Brown, The Roswell Drone Guy.
